Let’s just get the three most common concerns about Botox out of the way first: it’s absolutely safe….and it’s been used cosmetically for over 15 years….and you will still look natural and have facial expression. But don’t trust your Botox injections to just anyone. There is definitely an art to ensuring good Botox results. Dr. Jepson has been specially trained by Botox’s maker – Allergan – and will go out of his way to make sure that you have a great Botox experience when you get Botox treatments in Salt Lake City, Utah. In fact, Dr. Jepson is one of the top Botox injectors in the nation. Our clinic has been recognized with Diamond status by Allergan. This is a distinction given to only the top 3% of offices in the US, based on amounts of Botox injected. Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein that will temporarily relax your facial muscles. The end result is fewer lines and wrinkles, and a more refreshed, younger appearance. Popular injection areas include the brow (between the eyebrows), the forehead, and the crow’s feet (just outside your eyes). Dr. Jepson can also use Botox to lift and shape eyebrows, pout out your bottom lip, lift the corners of your mouth, minimize the small wrinkles on your upper lip, reduce the bands in your neck and more. Botox can also be used to reduce the pain and discomfort caused by TMJ, and can also help with migraine headaches. You can expect your Botox to last anywhere from 3-4 months depending on the area and amount injected.

A: Generally, most people will experience only a mild pinprick sensation with each Botox injection. We apply a topical numbing gel which helps take the edge off any pain and Dr. Jepson uses a very small 32 gauge needle.
A: Dr. Jepson’s general goal with all of his non-surgical procedures is for you to achieve a natural look. Botox, when strategically placed in the correct amounts by an experienced injector, will help you look refreshed and less wrinkly, while still maintaining a natural appearance.
A: Bruising is always a risk with any sort of facial injection. If it occurs, the bruise is generally small and easy to cover. Headache may occur rarely. If it does, it is usually only brief and can be treated with usual headache medication if needed. Eyebrow or eyelid drooping can also occur. This is usually dose-dependent and Dr. Jepson is generally conservative in the amounts he uses in first time clients to help prevent this possible side effect. If it occurs, it is only temporary and generally resolves within a few weeks.
A: We recommend that you avoid laying flat for 3-4 hours after receiving Botox in your brow or forehead. This minimizes the chances of any drooping. We also recommend that you avoid facials or facial massage for the remainder of the day following Botox injections. Otherwise, you may resume all your normal activities
