At the offices of Steven Jepson MD, our staff is well-trained to guide you through the entirety of a Botox or dermal filler treatment. We’ll help you understand the basics you need to know ahead of time, plus walk you through the procedure itself and several important areas for post-injection care.
And while there are certain areas here that we’ll advise you toward, a big part of the recovery process for Botox or any other dermal filler injection involves activities or actions you need to avoid. Let’s look at a few of the primary areas here, using Botox as a basic example, and give you some pointers on activities to stay away from in the immediate aftermath of treatment.
Avoid laying down flat for at least 3 hours after your Botox injections. Laying in a supine position after Botox can result in unwanted spread of the Botox into your eyelid muscles. This results in unwanted (though transient) droopiness.
Basic touching: For at least the first 12 hours, you have to resist the urge to rub or massage the Botox injection sites. Touching can move the Botox around. Basic skin care like cleansing, moisturization, and makeup application is OK.
Facial Treatments and Massages
Do not schedule a Facial or Massage right after your Botox appointment for the reasons listed above
