Ideal Dermal Filler Uses Based on Age Group, Part 1

dermal filler age group

Within the world of medical spas and dermal fillers, age is common topic from several perspectives. Not only are anti-aging services and products a big part of this realm for many, there are various such solutions that might be ideal for those within a certain age range, while others might be best for a different range.

At the offices of Steven Jepson MD, we’re proud to provide a wide variety of med spa services, ranging from Botox injections to laser treatments, tattoo removal and several high-quality skin care products we provide to clients. Based on your current age range, what are some of the dermal filler productsand uses might be best for you? This two-part blog series will go over everything to consider within this realm.

Everyone is Different

We wanted to begin, however, with a broad note: When it comes to dermal fillers and other medical spa products and services, everyone is different. Each of us will respond to various treatments in different ways depending on a huge variety of factors, from genetics to several lifestyle areas including diet, exercise and several others.

This means that for many people, your specific age is less important than your goals for med spa treatment. That said, there are some common age ranges or points at which we find many people begin using or desiring certain dermal fillers – the rest of our series will discuss these age ranges, the common desires of people in them, and the products or solutions used.

In Your 20s

Dermal fillers were once thought to only be for older adults, but this was never true – and this reality has begun to be reflected in recent decades, as many younger individuals have realized their benefits. Those in their 20s often begin using fillers due to genetics; those with weak bone structures in their face, for instance, may want to add some volume or definition in ways that dermal fillers are excellent for.

One important note here: We’ve noticed that among younger dermal filler patients, there’s a tendency to “bargain-hunt” and prioritize cost over skills and qualifications. This is an extremely risky approach, and may lead to low-quality injections that create future issues. If you desire dermal fillers for any reason, we strongly recommend working with a reputable professional like Dr. Jepson and taking the time to save up properly for these services.

In Your 30s

By the mid- or late-30s, many people find they have begun to see lines and wrinkles around their eyes, nose or cheeks. There are several dermal fillers, all of which are made from hyaluronic acid, that will help with lifting or tightening this skin, plus aiding it in producing new collagen to limit these lines and wrinkles moving forward.
