Botox is the #1 cosmetic procedure in the world and a great starting point for first time aesthetic patients. It is east, safe, relatively inexpensive and the results are impressive. Yet lots of people remain afraid of Botox.
What is Botox?
Botox is a purifiedderivative from the Botulinum Type A Toxin- a powerful muscle relaxant produced by a type of bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum. The key word here is purified. What we inject for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes is very far removed from its original “toxin” form.
What can Botox do for you?
Botox can be injected into any facial muscle that is causing a wrinkle. The forehead area is a common area to inject Botox, but the most common area by far is the brow-the area between your eyebrows where you make your “mad look”. Another popular area is just outside the corners of the eyes to relax the “crows feet” wrinkles.
While Botox is more commonly injected above the eye level, there are several other popular injection areas in the lower face.
